The head of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation office in Kabul, Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al-Ayash, met with Faisal Talq Mohammed Al-Baqmi to discuss strengthening cooperation in support of humanitarian assistance, development efforts, and stability in Afghanistan.
According to a statement issued by the OIC office, both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to addressing the challenges facing the Afghan people and enhancing cooperation to support peace and development in the country.
During the meeting, Al-Ayash praised Saudi Arabia’s continued support for Afghanistan and emphasized that sustained cooperation among OIC member states and international partners is essential for promoting peace, stability, and the well-being of the Afghan people.
The statement noted that the discussions focused on expanding humanitarian assistance, strengthening development cooperation, and supporting initiatives aimed at improving stability and addressing the needs of Afghans.
Experts on international affairs described the meeting as beneficial for Afghanistan, arguing that the OIC can play an important role in coordinating humanitarian assistance, easing economic pressures, and helping reduce Afghanistan’s international isolation.
International relations analyst Amir Gran said: “The OIC is one of the largest and most influential organizations in the Islamic world. Such meetings are important for Afghanistan and can contribute to organizing humanitarian assistance, reducing economic pressure, and helping the country emerge from international isolation.”
The meeting was aimed at reinforcing international humanitarian cooperation for the Afghan people and supporting joint efforts to promote peace and stability, while providing a more effective response to the country’s ongoing humanitarian and social challenges.
