The Afghanistan national cricket team is scheduled to play a Test match and a One Day International (50-over) series against the Indian cricket team in June this year.
In preparation for these matches, Afghan players have begun training and are working hard to perform well against India.
Cricket analysts say the Indian team is very strong, and since Afghanistan will face them in two major formats, the Afghan team needs complete preparation in all areas.
According to them, players still have enough time and should improve their skills in bowling, batting, and fielding.
Cricket analyst Abdul Malik Shinwari said:
“The Indian team is one of the best teams in the world. Afghanistan must prepare seriously for this series and get ready in every department.”
On the other hand, national team coaches say that after Kabul, a training camp has also been planned in Nangarhar, where all facilities have been arranged, from pitch preparation to batting practice.
National cricket team coach Nawroz Mangal said:
“This time we have prepared green pitches, which both batsmen and bowlers enjoy. We have also brought the same type of ball that is used in Test matches in India because this ball is different in other countries. It is a good opportunity for all players to perform well.”
According to them, after intense training and preparation, players have shown improvement in internal matches, especially in bowling, batting, and fielding, and they hope for strong performances against India.
National team assistant coach Rahis Ahmadzai said:
“Our fast bowlers bowled well and delivered the ball in the right areas. Another important point is that fielding has also improved. We hope to achieve good results in the upcoming series.”
The Afghanistan national cricket team will play a Test match against India on June 6 at Chandigarh Cricket Stadium. The ODI series will begin on June 14, with the first match in Dharamshala, the second in Lucknow, and the third in Chennai.
