The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) and the non-alcoholic beverage producer, Supercola, have signed a financial support agreement for the national cricket team.
Under this agreement, Supercola will provide financial backing to Afghanistan’s domestic cricket matches as well as the national team’s international games for the next two years.
Officials from the Cricket Board say that according to the signed agreement, the company will support all of Afghanistan’s bilateral series with other countries, as well as participation in international tournaments.
Naseeb Khan, the CEO of the Afghanistan Cricket Board, said:
“Today we signed a two-year contract with Supercola, and for the next two years, Supercola will support us in all matches. This financial support includes domestic cricket as well as all international games of the national team.”
Meanwhile, Supercola officials stated that supporting all sports in the country, particularly cricket, is part of their responsibility, and they intend to work alongside cricket for the next two years.
Shahab Qanawazian, CEO of Supercola, said:
“We see Afghanistan cricket shining on all global stages and holding a strong position internationally. As an Afghan company, we consider it our duty to support cricket and sports.”
With the Afghan team performing strongly in international tournaments and defeating major teams, the market for corporate sponsorship has become competitive. Both local and international companies are keen to financially support Afghanistan’s national cricket team.
