Ministry of National Defense Says Afghan Air Force Targeted Military Center in Islamabad

The Ministry of National Defense of Afghanistan says the Afghan Air Force targeted an important military center known as “Hamza” in the Faizabad area of Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, as part of retaliatory operations.

According to the ministry, the strike was carried out in response to a recent airstrike by Pakistan’s military regime on Afghan civilians in the 21 district area of Kabul. It said the command center and other key military facilities at the targeted base were precisely struck.

The ministry added that the retaliatory operation caused heavy financial and human losses to Pakistan’s military forces.

In a statement, the ministry said:
“An important military center of the Pakistani regime, known as ‘Hamza,’ located in the Faizabad area of Islamabad, was targeted. In this attack, the command center and other important facilities were precisely struck by drone aircraft, resulting in heavy casualties and material losses for the enemy forces.”

Political analysts say that although they consider Pakistan responsible for the ongoing tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan’s military establishment, the conflict ultimately harms both countries. They also call for political efforts to resolve the dispute.

Political analyst Rohullah Hotak said:
“The retaliatory strikes carried out by Afghanistan’s defense forces against Pakistan were very effective. Pakistan wanted to achieve success in the security sphere, but it failed, and instead is now targeting innocent civilians.”

The Ministry of National Defense also stated that on Saturday, in response to Pakistani attacks, Afghan forces destroyed a Pakistani military post along the Durand Line in the provinces of Kunar Province and Nangarhar Province.

According to the ministry, in those retaliatory attacks 14 Pakistani soldiers were killed and 11 others were wounded. The ministry added that an armored tank and an International military vehicle belonging to Pakistani forces were also completely destroyed.

However, analysts question what Pakistan’s military regime seeks to prove by continuing attacks on Afghanistan while violating international principles.

Political analyst Najibullah Jame said:
“Kabul has responded in a timely and comprehensive manner in accordance with the United Nations Charter and national sovereignty. The Afghan armed forces have made history, shown courage, and defended their homeland at any cost. The doors of Kabul remain open for diplomatic dialogue to resolve problems, but its stance against any aggression on its territory is legitimate and based on national interests.”

Meanwhile, the leader of Pakistan’s Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam party has strongly criticized the current policies of Pakistan’s military establishment, saying that Islamabad is currently facing complex regional and international challenges and should reconsider its policies toward its own people.
