Government Calls for International Investigation into Attack on Addiction Treatment Center

Officials from the Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Public Health have shared confirmed casualty figures from the brutal Monday night attack on an addiction treatment center by the Pakistan military regime.

The Ministry of Public Health reported that over 400 people were killed, 250 injured, and 200 rescued in the attack. The ministry’s spokesperson, Sharafat Zaman, added that given the intensity of the bombing, many victims’ bodies may still be under rubble, and numbers could rise as search operations continue. He said:
“Out of 3,000 hospitalized patients, unfortunately about 400 lost their lives, and around 250 were injured, some in critical condition.”

The Ministry of Interior compared the attack to Israel’s violent strikes on Gaza, calling it a live scene of human atrocity.

Mohammad Nabi Omari, representing the Islamic Emirate leadership, pledged assistance to the families of the martyrs and the injured, and urged all families to bury the martyrs in a single cemetery to preserve the memory of Pakistan’s brutality for future generations. He emphasized that protecting the lives and property of all Afghans is the Islamic Emirate’s responsibility and warned the aggressor of consequences. Omari also called on the Pakistani people to not remain silent against the ongoing atrocities of their military regime.

The Ministry of Interior deputy added:
“The Emirate requests that all victims be buried in one cemetery. The lasting significance will be that even if we and this century are gone, the cemetery will record that these were people martyred by their Muslim neighbor with massive bombs during the holy month of Ramadan.”

In an official statement, the Ministry condemned the attacks as violations of all Islamic principles, international humanitarian law, and conventions, warning perpetrators of severe punishment. It also called on the international community and human rights organizations to fulfill their responsibilities and seek accountability for the blood of innocent Afghans.

Spokesperson Abdul Mateen Qani said:
“The Islamic Emirate calls on major international organizations, the UN, and global human rights institutions to recognize their responsibility and raise their voice against this barbaric attack by the Pakistani military.”

Alongside casualties, the attack by Pakistani jets completely destroyed the Āmīd Addiction Treatment Center, which at the time was treating 3,000 patients. This facility is the largest addiction treatment center in the country and has treated approximately 121,000 patients over the past three years.
