During continued attacks on civilians and public facilities in Afghanistan, the Pakistan military regime targeted the Āmīd Hospital for addiction treatment in Kabul last night, committing yet another unpardonable human rights atrocity.
Relatives and friends of the patients, gathered outside the hospital after the attack, said some of their family members were hospitalized and expected to be discharged soon to return to their families. Now, they do not know whether their loved ones survived or were killed in the strike.
They described the attack as utterly destructive, leaving behind only rubble and memories of their relatives.
Wali Mohammad, a family member of a missing patient, said:
“Our family member, Abdul Rahman, son of Shamsuddin, had been in the hospital for two months. I learned that the reckless Pakistanis bombed the hospital in the dark of night and destroyed our young ones.”
Haroon, another relative, said:
“My father had been hospitalized here for the past three weeks. I still don’t know if he is alive or dead. I came to find him, dead or alive.”
Other relatives of injured patients said the wounded are in critical condition and need urgent care.
They emphasized that the actions of Pakistan’s military regime are no different from Israel, adding that even non-believers would not commit such acts during the holy month of Ramadan.
Pointing to the civilian casualties, they stressed their readiness to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the Islamic Emirate to seek justice for their martyrs and defend Afghanistan’s territorial integrity.
Mujeeb, a family member of an injured patient, said:
“My brother was hospitalized here and was seriously injured in this attack. We are all deeply distressed.”
Adam Khan, a relative of another missing patient, said:
“I am 70 years old, but I want to join the fight against Pakistan today. The entire Afghan nation, men and women alike, are ready to confront Pakistan.”
Families of the victims describe this attack as contrary to humanitarian principles and the UN Charter. They call on the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan to seek retribution for this attack and urge the United Nations to hold Pakistan accountable and pressure it to prevent similar attacks in the future.
