A three-day national exhibition of domestic products has opened in Lashkargah, the capital of Helmand province. More than 40 types of locally produced goods are being showcased across 50 booths at the exhibition.
Officials say the aim of the exhibition is to promote domestic products, support market access, and introduce locally made goods to the public.
Rahmatullah Nazari, head of the Helmand Chamber of Industry and Mines, said: “This is the second exhibition held in Helmand since the establishment of the Islamic Emirate, and it has brought significant benefits to the people of Helmand. Local residents and traders can view products here and find markets for them.”
Ghulam Yahya Pashtoon, head of the Helmand Chamber of Commerce and Investment, said the exhibition, called *Haqmal*, introduces domestic products from Helmand and across Afghanistan to local people and visitors.
Industrialists and visitors attending the exhibition also described such events as beneficial for marketing domestic products and called for their continuation.
They said that due to limited access to international markets, their products lack sufficient sales opportunities and prices have dropped noticeably.
Industrialist Mohammad Tareq said: “These kinds of exhibitions are very valuable. They showcase our products to the public and help promote local industry.”
Another industrialist, Mohammad Asif, said: “Such exhibitions serve as advertising for our products. People from cities and villages come here, see the goods, and learn what is now being produced in Afghanistan and in their own province.”
Currently, more than 150 domestic production factories are operating in Helmand across various sectors, employing around 6,000 people.
