Apart from the Islamic State group (ISIS) and other extremist groups, this time reports have been published about the presence of the Al-Qaeda network in Afghanistan and the appointment of some of its members on important positions in the framework of the Interim Government.
The American Long War Journal magazine quoted from the latest report of the United Nations Analytical Support and Sanctions Monitoring Group that Afghanistan along with other terrorist groups has become a safe haven for the Al-Qaeda network, and its members have been appointed on some key positions of the Interim Government.
The report reads: “Most of the members of Al-Qaeda are working as leaders and key activists in the Taliban government. They include two governors, the deputy director general of intelligence and the head of trainings in the Ministry of National Defense.”
On the top of that, the magazine wrote in its article that the IE, along with paying monthly salaries and expenses to Al-Qaeda members, the Interior Minister has also commenced the distribution of passports and ID cards.
The report reads: “Taliban provides monthly salary, expenses, Afghan passports and identity cards to Al-Qaeda members, their passports and identity cards are issued by the Ministry of Interior Affairs.”
The IE has repeatedly called such reports and claims of countries and media baseless and its reaction for the latest report of the Long War Journal was the same as the previous ones, saying that all the government officials are Afghans and members of the IE.
This is not the first time that such reports have been published about the officials of the Interim Government of Afghanistan, but earlier, in many regional and international meetings, concern has been expressed that Afghanistan has become a safe haven for terrorists for the past few months.
