The National Security Council of Pakistan held a meeting under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif yesterday April 08, 2023.
The meeting was attended by the Ministers of Interior and Foreign Affairs, the Chief of the Army and members of the Cabinet.
The NSC of Pakistan issued a press release after the meeting and said that it was decided at the 41st meeting of the council that a comprehensive operation against terrorism and armed groups will be launched in Pakistan.
The press release reads: “In the meeting, it was agreed to commence a wide-ranging operation across the country in order to clear the aggregate land from the presence and hazard of terrorists.”
According to the press release, the operations will include political, diplomatic, economic and social expediencies in order to abolish all forms of terrorism from Pakistan.
It was also stated in the press release that a high-ranking committee was given the task to prepare and implement the procedure of the operation within two weeks.
It was also criticized in the press release that the terrorist groups active in Afghanistan have challenged the security of Pakistan.
The press release reads: “As a result of the support given by the active armed groups in Afghanistan, the stability which was achieved by countless sacrifices has been damaged.”
On the other hand, political analysts reject the recent remarks and claims of Pakistani authorities and added that Pakistan has been a major training and financing center for terrorist groups for decades.
They called the decision of the Pakistan Security Council planning against the civil movements of Pashtuns in Pakhtunkhwa.
The IE has not yet reacted to the recent statements of the Pakistani authorities, but it has already assured that there are no terrorist groups in Afghanistan that can challenge the security of the region and neighboring countries and IE will also not allow any country to invade Afghanistan.
