Recently, the United States has expressed concern that the activities of terrorist groups are increasing in Afghanistan and should be suppressed.
Political analysts said that such remarks by the US are just a slogan, which has never been put in to practice.
According to them, the US has provided wide assistance to the previous governments of Afghanistan to combat terrorism, but now it does not help the current government of Afghanistan, nor does it provide any possibilities to fight terrorism, but requests that the Interim Government of Afghanistan should fight seriously against terrorism.
They also believed that the US should make a strategic pact with Kabul to defeat ISIS and other terrorist groups that threaten the security of the world and the region.
“If the US is really committed to eradicating terrorism at the international level and in the geography of Afghanistan, the best way is to make a strategic agreement with the IE, according to which the IE will defeat ISIS and other similar groups that challenge the security of the region. But if the US is making pretenses for another proxy war, its ways are different.” Hatif Mukhtar, a political commentator commentated
Meanwhile, some others deemed that now it is clear in which country the terrorists are being trained, for what and by whom they are being used.
They suggested that the US should stop harassing Afghans in the name of terrorists and non-terrorists. If Washington really wants to eradicate terrorism in the world, it should put pressure on Pakistan.
“If the US wants to eliminate terrorists and extremist groups in the world, it should put pressure on Pakistan, not on Afghanistan. These terrorist groups have been trained by America for its political interests and goals. America should not make any more excuses and let our country and people to live peacefully.” Said Political expert Turyalai Zazai
On the other hand, there are a lot of criticisms on the US in terms of fighting terrorism, which, despite all the possibilities and 20 years of war, the US has not been able to destroy ISIS and other armed groups in Afghanistan.
Sarwar Niazai, a political expert, said that the US should answer the world that beside all financial and technical capability the US fought for 20 years in Afghanistan but it could not destroy terrorist groups.
Niazai added: “When the US claims that ISIS is a big threat in Afghanistan, so the US should be asked that why it did not destroy ISIS and other armed groups in past 20 years. The US had so much strength, so many forces and so many opportunities and so much money, for what all these have been spent and what the US did in Afghanistan in the past 20 years, and the US should answer.”
The IE has always stressed that the Interim Government will not allow any individual or group to use the territory of Afghanistan against others and also pose a threat to the world from Afghanistan, but the US is still afraid of ISIS and other terrorist groups’ activities in Afghanistan that must be defeated.
