On the second day of the 10th session of the Herat Security Dialogue in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, the representatives of the participating countries discussed the current political and humanitarian situation in Afghanistan.
In the meeting, the European Union’s special representative for Afghanistan, Thomas Nicholas, said that the purpose of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan is to prevent economic crisis.
Nicholas added: “Our interaction with the people of Afghanistan means their support. In order to prevent the ongoing humanitarian and economic crisis in Afghanistan, we are continuing our assistance. We support aid and move forward based on principles and conditions.”
Nicholas described the current situation of women in Afghanistan as deplorable and added that after the Islamic Emirate came to power, women were systematically deprived of their civil rights.
He added: “You and I are watching and witnessing that the situation of women in Afghanistan is changing systematically. The latest decisions about women are that they cannot go to parks, women are deprived of civil participation. are Our aim is to support women so that they can participate in the economic development of Afghanistan in the future.
In addition, the representatives of the participating countries made a concerted effort to solve the problems in Afghanistan.
A number of political experts are of the opinion that without a representative of the caretaker government, the meetings regarding Afghanistan are representative and ineffective.
This meeting is taking place at a time when there are many meetings related to Afghanistan, but after the travel ban, even a representative of the Islamic Emirate is not allowed to attend such meetings.
A number of former government officials and former politicians have also been invited to the Herat security meeting.
