Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) says that the United Arab Emirates–based HHM company has expressed interest in investing in the generation of around 1,000 megawatts of electricity in Afghanistan.
On Monday, DABS Chief Executive Officer Mullah Abdul Haq Akhundzada met in his office with Tankut Dashdemir, head of the UAE-based HHM company, to discuss investment in electricity generation from gas in Afghanistan.
In a post on its Facebook page, DABS said that during the meeting, the CEO discussed the conditions provided for investment in electricity generation in Afghanistan and assured the company’s head of full cooperation in this regard.
According to DABS, the UAE company has expressed readiness in the first phase to invest in generating electricity with a capacity of 1,000 megawatts using gas.
Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat also stated that such efforts to attract investment in power generation are an important step toward developing the energy sector and achieving self-sufficiency in electricity production.
