Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has once again clarified Pakistan’s position on Afghanistan in an interview with Al-Jazeera TV and said that Pakistan’s vision on Afghanistan is the same as the position of the international community.
Zardari insisted on the international interaction with Afghanistan, but he also asked the Interim Government of Afghanistan to fulfill its promises made to the international community and Afghan nation regarding the non-use of Afghanistan’s territory for terrorist activities, human rights, and girls’ education.
He added: “We still believed that interaction is the solution. Not only Pakistan, but the entire international community should interact with Afghanistan, because a safe and stable Afghanistan is in the interest of all of us.
In response to a question, whether the activities of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan can affect the ties between Afghanistan and Pakistan? He said the issue is an argument and added that after the IE seized the power in Afghanistan, terrorist attacks have increased in the vicinities under the rule of Pakistan.
Zardari added: “The threat from Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan in particular is an argument. After the collapse of Kabul, we are witnessing an increase in the number of terrorist attacks in Pakistan. We are in contact with the current rulers of Afghanistan and have asked them to take serious action against such groups.”
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan has not yet reacted to the recent remarks of the Pakistan Foreign Minister, but previously said that the Interim Government of Afghanistan has fulfilled its promises to the international community, and now it is up to the international community to fulfill its promises to Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, political analysts deemed that regional and beyond countries show coordination with the position of the international community regarding Afghanistan for the security of their goals and that is why the regional allies of the Interim Government of Afghanistan have not been able to officially recognize the Afghan government.
They also stressed on a series of reforms that the IE should undertake in order to achieve international interaction.
However, the IE has reiterated that it has met all the criteria for recognition, but the international community called the establishment of an inclusive government, the protection of human rights, and prevention of threats from Afghanistan to the region and the world, and some other issues important for recognition.
