Speaking at a university of international relations the UN Deputy Secretary-General, Amina Mohammad, said that an international meeting regarding Afghanistan will be held next month.
Mohammad added that the meeting will be held in a regional country in the next two weeks, but did not reveal the country’s name.
According to her remarks, the purpose of the meeting is to consult on the recognition of the Interim Government of Afghanistan.
She said that IE wants to be recognized so it will be reconsidered and discussed in the meeting.
Meanwhile, Zalmay Khalilzad, the former US Special Representative for Afghanistan, said in a tweet that the meeting will be held in Qatar on May 01, 2023.
