The Pakistani military once again carried out attacks yesterday afternoon on parts of Asadabad, the capital of Kunar province, resulting in civilian casualties and damage to residential homes.
Deputy government spokesperson Hamdullah Fitrat said that, according to preliminary information, 16 people—mostly women and children—were injured and one person was killed in the attacks.
These attacks on civilians and homes come as Pakistani military forces had previously also shelled civilian areas and passing travelers in Nuristan province.
Most of the casualties from Pakistan’s attacks on Afghanistan have been inflicted on civilians and civilian infrastructure.
On the 27th of Ramadan, a military airstrike targeted the Omid Hospital in Kabul. According to Afghan authorities, around 400 patients were killed and more than 300 others were injured in that attack.
Recent reports also confirm that Pakistani shelling in Asadabad has killed one person and injured at least 16 others, most of them women and children, amid ongoing cross-border clashes
