Mujahid: Pakistan’s Military Aggression Against Afghanistan Will Not Go Unanswered

The Islamic Emirate has described Pakistan’s latest military aggression against Afghanistan as part of a broader project allegedly pursued by Islamabad to destabilize the region.

Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, said the Pakistani military regime is targeting civilians in Afghanistan in an effort to please its “masters.”

In an exclusive interview with Shamshad Television, Mujahid stated that the recent attacks by the Pakistani military regime in Nangarhar and Paktika provinces—where at least 24 civilians were killed—will not go unanswered.

Zabihullah Mujahid said:
“This current policy is the work of a circle that has chosen hostility toward Afghanistan and is involved in a program of destabilizing the region. This circle is moving toward tension with regional countries and is engaged in implementing the projects of major powers.”

Mujahid added that the Pakistani military regime is attempting to conceal its internal failures by launching attacks on Afghan territory, but said such “crimes” will never remain hidden.

Responding to a question, he said that a calculated response to the Pakistani military regime’s attacks will be delivered at an appropriate time. According to Mujahid, Afghanistan’s response this time will focus on military targets inside Pakistan.

He further claimed that attempts had been made to destabilize Afghanistan by exploiting ISIS, alleging that weapons sent into Afghanistan may have been intended to fall into ISIS hands.

He said Afghan security forces remain vigilant and will thwart such plots.

Mujahid’s remarks about retaliation come as Afghan forces had previously claimed to have killed dozens of Pakistani soldiers and captured three alive in response to last year’s clashes.

The three detained Pakistani soldiers were released last week through mediation by Saudi Arabia and in respect for the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan.

Mujahid also accused the Pakistani military regime of providing safe havens and training centers for ISIS on its own soil, claiming this poses a serious threat to regional and global security.

He emphasized:
“Without doubt, our target will not be civilians. If retaliation is carried out, it will be directed at the criminals involved in such acts.”

These developments come after similar Pakistani strikes in August 2025 on Khost and Nangarhar provinces. At that time, Pakistan did not openly acknowledge the attacks, but the Afghan government summoned the chargé d’affaires of the Pakistani embassy in Kabul and attributed the strikes to Pakistan.

Pakistan has also previously carried out similar attacks in areas near the disputed Durand Line in Khost and Kunar provinces, resulting in civilian casualties.
