Local residents are calling on the government to retaliate against Pakistan following the recent airstrike, which they say targeted only civilians. They reject Pakistan’s claim that members of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were present in the area, insisting that no such fighters exist there.
Residents are urging the government not to leave what they describe as a humanitarian crime by the Pakistani military regime unanswered.
A resident of Gardi Kach area in Behsud district said:
“This is the house of Shahabuddin, who had two sons, Nezakhat and Showkat. A total of 22 people were living in this home. Six survived with injuries, and the rest were martyred.”
Another local resident stated:
“We call on the officials of the Islamic Emirate to give a strong response to this attack.”
Although Showkat, a resident of the targeted house in Gardi Kach, survived the airstrike along with his wife and injured son, 15 members of his family were killed and six others wounded.
Speaking about the attack, Showkat said:
“Most of my family members were buried under the rubble, all crying out for help to be rescued. I was only able to save one aunt and my son. The rest were martyred under the debris. Fifteen members of my family were killed.”
Meanwhile, officials describe the Pakistani military regime as having failed to ensure security within its own country and say it is attempting to conceal its shortcomings through such attacks. They assure the public that the latest strike will not go unanswered.
Hayatullah Mohajer Farahi, Deputy Minister for Publications at the Ministry of Information and Culture, said:
“To hide its own failures and divert public attention, it has attacked and invaded Afghanistan. A similar incident occurred previously, and the Islamic Emirate delivered a crushing response. The Islamic Emirate assures the people of this region and the entire nation that such attacks will never go without response.”
In addition to this strike, Pakistan reportedly carried out airstrikes in Ghani Khil and Khogyani districts of Nangarhar, as well as in the Margha area of Barmal district in Paktika province, where civilian targets were also allegedly hit.
