In a press release, the Ministry of Finance said that, based on the order of the leadership of the IEA and the decision of the Economic Commission, in order to promote the country’s exports and also encourage investors and businessmen, customs duty has decreased by 15 dollars per ton and the price of realty per ton has decreased by 5 dollars, which is 20 dollars in total.
The press release added the decision was made on June 2 and since then it can be implemented in all the customs offices of the country.
Afghanistan’s coal is mostly exported to Pakistan, which is facing a major problem in terms of energy supply.
The Ministry of Finance said in January 2022 that in the first 11 months of 2023, it has received 12 billion and 143 million Afghanis in customs duty from the export of coal to Pakistan.
