Recently, the number of foreign tourists visiting the ancient sites of the Northern Province of Balkh has increased.

A group of 9 Italian tourists recently arrived in Balkh and visited the ancient monuments and vicinities of the province.

“I have a good feeling that I am wearing Afghani traditional clothes. The fact is that these clothes are suitable to the weather of Afghanistan. When I go to Italy, I will wear the same clothes there.” One of the tourists, Luka, said

Italian tourists uttered that there is negative publicity about Afghanistan abroad and they did not think that Afghanistan will be such a peaceful and beautiful country.

Tourist Razia said: “I came to Afghanistan for the first time. All that I heard abroad about this country was a lie. I feel happy to see the beauty of this country.”

Tourist Roberto says: “I had heard about the beauty and historical places of Afghanistan, but today I see it closely. I was surprised and the positive realities of the Afghan society were revealed to me. I recommend other foreign tourists to visit the historical places of Afghanistan.”

Meanwhile, Abdul Wahid Ahadi, the head of the Tourism Directorate of Balkh province’s Information and Culture Department, said this year, tourists from 32 countries have visited the historical places and monuments of Balkh and the series is still going on.

Balkh in the north of Afghanistan has more than 100 historical sites, which host hundreds of foreign and domestic guests every year.

The cemetery attributed to Hazrat Ali, Khwaja Parsa, Rabia Balkhi Mausoleum, Mawlana Jalaluddin Muhammad Balkhi’s father’s worship’s place, Hazrat Sheth’s (A.S.) Mausoleum, and Haji Piadah are important historical places in this province.

It is worth mentioning that the group of Italian tourists visited Kabul, Bamyan and Herat provinces before arriving in Balkh.
