Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said during a joint press conference with his Tajik counterpart in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, that they are committed to the establishment of a politically and ethnically united government in Afghanistan and the elimination of terrorism, illegal immigration and smuggling drugs from Afghanistan have been demanded.
Lavrov also said that there are various international plans related to Afghanistan in separate frameworks, and now they are in the process of finalizing and implementing the decisions related to Afghanistan.
The Russian TASS news agency said that Lavrov, while visiting a Russian military base in Tajikistan, said that Washington supports other armed groups and wants to send its military facilities back to Afghanistan’s neighboring countries.
Earlier, Russia and Tajikistan had demanded the formation of a coalition government in Afghanistan, but the IE has always said the Interim Government of Afghanistan is inclusive.
Although it has been two years since the IE came to power, not a single country in the world, including Russia and Tajikistan, has recognized it.
