Imran Khan, Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Party, who was the 22nd Prime Minister of Pakistan from August 2018 to April 2022, but his day turned bad after he visited Russia.

Russia is encountering severe international criticism and sanctions due to the attack on Ukraine, the meeting between Imran Khan and Putin led to the downfall of Khan’s power.

After Khan was ousted from power, he was accused of around 121 cases, including corruption, supporting terrorism and destabilizing Pakistan.

These cases, most of which are related to corruption, the government of Pakistan asked for an explanation several times and raided the house of Imran Khan, but the police failed to arrest him.

Imran Khan was arrested when he appeared in a court in Islamabad on May 09, 2023.

Although it is not yet clear how long Imran Khan will remain in jail, government sources told Pakistan Dawn media outlet that Khan will be with them for four or five days, but they did not disclose more information regarding his release.

Islamabad Police said about the protesters, they burned and seized public and private properties and harassed the passengers.

Police added: “The supporters of Tehreek-e-Insaf burnt public vehicles in Islamabad and seized them; they entered green zones, burnt trees and harassed passengers on highways, some of them carrying weapons and petrol bombs.”

Pakistan’s former Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said in a video message that Imran Khan is now in the prison of people who threatened him with death.

He added: “Imran Khan is now in the prison of those who threatened him with death and this is a matter of great concern. The second thing is that the Punjab government has involved the army in this issue and asked them for help, which is against the law.”

On the other hand, due to the arrest of Imran Khan, demonstrations have broken out across the Pakistan, most of which turned in to violent.

Although the figures close to Imran Khan have declared the continuation of the peaceful demonstrations, but actually there have been clashes between the protesters and the police, in which 10 people have been killed and thousands of people have been arrested so far.

During the rule of Tehreek-e-Insaf in Pakistan, political parties’ leaders were accused of corruption and abuse of power, and most of them appeared in court.

On the other hand, thousands of supporters of Imran Khan took to the streets and embassies of Pakistan in foreign countries and demanded his release.

Imran Khan was shot and injured by an unknown person during a protest against the current authorities of Pakistan a few months ago.

Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif welcomed the arrest of Imran Khan and promised to continue his struggle against hooligans.

The Interior Minister of Pakistan, Rana Sanaullah, denied the report of Khan’s torture and said that he will be kept in good condition.
