یوناما: د ا.ا بندیزونو مو بشري مرستې اغېزمنې کړي

UNAMA: IE’s Bans Affect Our Humanitarian Assistance

The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) said that the recent sanctions imposed by the IE have affected their assistance related to health, education and food.

UNAMA added that the only solution to the problems and short comes faced by Afghans in Afghanistan is the presence of the United Nations and related NGOs in Afghanistan, but the Interim Government should remove the obstacles in front of them.

UNAMA added: “After imposing the sanctions, we held meetings with a number of Afghan parties, including civil societies and women, our partner countries and donors. It is necessary to remove the restrictions and obstacles to support the Afghans in the delivery of assistance from the United Nations, national and international NGOs, and the Interim Government should remove these obstacles.”

According to UNAMA, assistance from various donors in Afghanistan has reached its lowest level and banning women’s work will increase these problems.

UNAMA added: “The level of funding for relief operations has reached an alarmingly low level, and the ban on women’s work aggravates the situation. We reiterate our commitment to provide assistance to the men, women and children of Afghanistan and we must achieve our goals in a proper and effective manner.”

On the other hand, some political analysts believed that the sanctions imposed by the Interim Government have not only affected humanitarian assistance, but have also created a lack of interaction with the world and a distance from recognition.

UNAMA’s remarks and concerns are triggering after the Interim Government banned the UNAMA female staff to attend their offices.

Earlier, the closure of schools and universities for Afghan girls, the ban on women’s work in non-governmental organizations except for health centers, and a number of other restrictions were the cases that the world was asking the IE to solve them.
