The Supreme Court of IE issued a press release, saying that on the occasion of the holy month of fasting and the arrival of Eid al-Fitr and according to the decree of the leadership of the IE, the order of the Ministry of Justice, and the edict of the Supreme Court 2,640 prisoners were released.
According to the press release, 196 of the prisoners have been released in Kunar, Nuristan, Nimroz, Paktika provinces and the rest of the prisoners were in different provinces of the country.
It was also stated in the press release that the prison term of some prisoners has also been reduced.
