A number of shopkeepers in Kabul, who have food and non-food stores, complain about unemployment and add that their sales are decreasing day by day.

They say that their business has been damaged and affected because many people are unemployed and job opportunities have been lost.
The manager of a wholesale food and non-food store in Kabul city says: “Before, the situation was good, but now the situation has worsened a little. In the present time, people have also become somewhat unemployed. Prices are going up. yes! Similarly, nowadays people have become poor.
The manager of one wholesale food and non-food store in Kabul city says: “People’s problems are many, may God have mercy on them.” Currently, the price is about to rise. Another problem is that they have not paid the salaries of government employees. This system has a chain shape, if they get a salary, they will go and buy a business, if they don’t get a salary, then where will they do business.”
Officials of the wholesale stores say that now their work is not the same as before, they do not have much sales and some food items are deteriorating.
They expect that if people are provided with business opportunities, their work will also be affected.
The manager of a wholesale food and non-food store in Kabul city says: “Before, we used to bring food three times a week. Now think about it, we don’t bring food even once in two weeks, because the sales have decreased. .”
Also, some Kabul citizens, who used to buy goods from big wholesale stores, now do not have much money and are trying to buy goods from small shops.
A resident of Kabul city says: “Basically, people don’t go to big stores because before, people used to go, and the prices were low. In the past, when people bought things, they used to buy them whole, like oil. He used to buy a bushel, or a bag of flour, now he buys flour, he buys a packet of oil, so the big stores don’t sell these things less.”
Not only that the owners of big shops in Kabul city are complaining about the deterioration of their businesses, but many businesses along with shops in the whole country have also been affected.
