It has been almost two years that Afghanistan has been encountering international sanctions and the political crisis has put the economic situation of 40 million Afghans into a disaster and its continuation has increased their worries.
A number of political experts said the sanctions imposed on Afghanistan by the US and the rest of the world are a humanitarian crime against the Afghan people who were victims of their proxy wars in the last four and a half decades.
They believed if the world really calls itself a defender of human rights and has justice, then it should remove all the sanctions imposed on the Afghan people immediately.
“The sanctions imposed on Afghanistan by a number of countries, especially the US, Iran and Pakistan, are an unforgivable human crime against the 40 million people of Afghanistan. They have committed war crimes against humanity in Afghanistan during the last 45 years. If there are really human rights, justice and democracy in the world, the international community should put an end to these sanctions immediately.” Political commentator Turiyalai Zazai commentated
On the other hand, some others deemed that the sanctions that the world uses as pressure against the Afghan government are more damaging to ordinary Afghans.
They uttered that if these sanctions continue; the consequences will be dangerous for the 40 million Afghan people and will further expand the economic crisis.
“The sanctions, which the international community uses as pressure on the Taliban, do not harm the IE as much as it affects the people of Afghanistan, unemployment, poverty, hunger and the lack of trade with the world has led to a great humanitarian disaster in Afghanistan, due to which people have been forced to leave the country.” Said Sarwar Niazai, a political expert
Hatif Mukhtar, political analyst said without a doubt, that the world sanctions have damaged Afghanistan and made the life of Afghans difficult.
According to Mukhtar, if the United States does not change its policy against Afghans, which the rest of the world has agreed with, then the Afghans will have to establish relations with the anti-American poles for their survival.
He added: “When you impose sanctions on Afghan nation and put it under pressure, on the one hand you harm the nation, on the other hand, Afghanistan is forced to stand with such a pole, in which Afghanistan’s survival is secured, and this is the order of Afghanistan’s national interests, in case America does not stop the sanctions.”
Meanwhile, the IE calls the international sanctions imposed on the Afghan people oppression.
When the Republic of Afghanistan was replaced by the IE, the world also turned its back on Afghanistan and stopped its official visits.
Now many efforts are being made to augment Afghanistan’s ties with the world once again, but it has not yet yielded any results. It is requested that both the world and the Afghan side should show flexibility to achieve the goal.
